Regular Season Round 16: Penarol - Obera 68-71

The most exciting game of round 16 in the La Liga took place in Mar del Plata. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked Penarol (8-6) to fourth ranked Obera (11-4) 71-68 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Penarol. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Jonatan Torresi (190-1994) who helped to win the game recording 22 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Naturalized Dominican forward Xavier Carreras (198-1994) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Bruno Sansimoni (194-1996) replied with 29 points and 4 assists and American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Penarol. Penarol's coach Adrian Capelli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Obera have an impressive six-game winning streak. Despite that victory Obera went down to fifth position due to points difference. Penarol at the other side keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
