Regular Season Round 15: Sao Jose - Rio Claro 98-63
Date: December 29, 2022
Very expected game when 16th ranked Rio Claro (3-13) was smashed on the road by twelfth ranked Sao Jose (6-10) 98-63 on Thursday. Sao Jose made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Sao Jose looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian point guard Diego Figueredo (185-1991, agency: BIG) who led the winners and scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Dominican Nehemias Morillo (197-1992, college: S.Florida) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Sao Jose players scored in double figures. Rafa Oliveira (199-1993) came up with 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American point guard Kenny Dawkins (177-1987, college: Lamar) added 9 points and 8 assists respectively for Rio Claro in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sao Jose moved-up to tenth place. Loser Rio Claro keeps the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
