Important game to mention about took place in Mercedes. Nineteenth ranked Comunicaciones (4-14) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 18th ranked Union SF (4-14) 89-87 in the fight for the eighteenth place. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Skyler Hogan (196-1997, college: SEMO, agency: Pro Sports) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Will Vorhees (203-1995, college: NDC) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Vorhees is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard John Merchant (187-1989, college: Dowling) came up with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and center Ignacio Alessio (203-1987) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Union SF in the defeat. Five Comunicaciones and four Union SF players scored in double figures. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Comunicaciones moved-up to eighteenth place, which they share with defeated Union SF. Union SF lost third consecutive game. Comunicaciones will play against higher ranked Riachuelo LR (#16) in La Rioja in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Union SF will play at home against La Union and hopes to get back on the winning track.
