Regular Season Round 23: GEPU - Montmartre 69-67

There was no surprise in San Luis where 10th ranked Montmartre (6-8) was edged by fourth ranked GEPU (12-4) 69-67 on Wednesday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. GEPU forced 19 Montmartre turnovers. The best player for the winners was American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Randy Haynes (193-1995, college: ODU, agency: SLN) chipped in 16 points. Swingman Martin Gomez (197-1996) produced 16 points and American forward Richard Granberry (203-1993, college: Virginia St.) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Montmartre's coach Gabriel Albornoz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for GEPU. Newly promoted GEPU maintains fourth place with 12-4 record. Montmartre at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Rocamora. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
