Rather expected game when 12th ranked Ferro (8-11) lost to tenth ranked Regatas (9-7) in Corrientes 61-71 on Friday. The winners were led by guard Juan Arengo (185-1996) who scored that evening 19 points and forward Alejandro Diez (201-1987) supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds by swingman Valentin Bettiga (189-1999) did not help to save the game for Ferro. Point guard Tomas Spano (183-1998) added 14 points for the guests. Ferro's coach Federico Fernandez tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Regatas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Penarol. Ferro lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Regatas will meet at home higher ranked Obera (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ferro will play against Penarol (#9) and hope to secure a win.
