The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sao Paulo: Sao Paulo (#3) and Corinthians (#7). Corinthians was defeated at home 73-85 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The best player for the winners was American guard Cordero Bennett (185-1988) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-1987) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) produced 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Maozinha Pereira (200-2000) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts.
