Everything went according to plan in Buenos Aires where eighth ranked Penarol (11-7) beat 12th ranked Ferro (8-12) 102-88 on Thursday. Penarol made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Jose Defelippo (186-1997) who scored 16 points and 9 assists. American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) chipped in 22 points. Five Penarol players scored in double figures. Penarol's coach Adrian Capelli allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
