Very expected game in Mercedes where 16th ranked Comunicaciones (6-13) was defeated by twelfth ranked Atenas (9-9) 75-69 on Thursday. Atenas made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Ecuadorian guard Erick Mecias (184-2003) who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Maximiliano Araujo (183-2002) who added 19 points during the contest. Four Atenas players scored in double figures.
