There was an upset when higher ranked Aguada (10-8) lost to tenth ranked Malvin (8-10) in Montevideo 74-85 on Saturday. Malvin dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Aguada's 38. American guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-1991, college: Chaminade, agency: Players Group) notched 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the other American import Daniel Hamilton (201-1995, college: UConn) supported him with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Malvin players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds by Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Aguada. American forward Anthony Young (200-1989, college: KWC) added 22 points. Malvin moved-up to eighth place. Loser Aguada keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Malvin's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Bigua.
