Regular Season Round 23: Quimsa - Union SF 97-64
Date: January 22, 2023
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Quimsa (13-6) rolled over 19th ranked Union SF (5-17) in Santiado del Estero 97-64 on Sunday. Quimsa made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) who led the winners and scored 14 points. The former international Kevin Hernandez (205-1991) accounted for 15 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side. Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-1996, college: Arkansas) came up with 17 points and center Ignacio Alessio (203-1987) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Union SF in the defeat. Five Quimsa and four Union SF players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quimsa moved-up to fifth place. Union SF lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth position with 17 games lost. Quimsa will meet bottom-ranked Atenas (#20) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Union SF will play against Ferro and hope to secure a win.
