Everything went according to plan when thirteenth ranked La Union (9-13) defeated 18th ranked Comunicaciones (5-16) in Mercedes 93-82 on Monday. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Michael Henry (196-1995, college: Buffalo St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) accounted for 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. La Union's coach Sebastian Ginobili used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Melvin Johnson (193-1993, college: VCU) came up with 21 points and 4 assists and Facundo Giorgi (203-1985, college: FIU) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Comunicaciones in the defeat. Five La Union and four Comunicaciones players scored in double figures. La Union have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to twelfth place.
