Regular Season Round 19: Malvin - Bigua 93-85

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Bigua (12-4) in Montevideo on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Malvin (9-10) 93-85. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Bigua. Malvin looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American Daniel Hamilton (201-1995, college: UConn) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (201-1990, college: Murray St., agency: 011 Sports) helped adding 26 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Brazilian center Luis Santos (194-1994) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 20 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bigua's coach Diego Cal rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Malvin moved-up to eighth place. Defending champion Bigua still keeps top position with four games lost. Malvin's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Defensor.
