There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Estudiantes C. (7-13) won against 13th ranked Pilar (8-15) in Concordia 69-62 on Friday. The winners were led by point guard Matias Alluchon (185-2000) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds and Alvaro Yarza supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Even 17 points by point guard Pablo Bruna (185-1987) did not help to save the game for Pilar. American center Dishon Lowery (200-1998, college: OKBU) added 7 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Pilar's coach Roberto Pavlotsky rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Estudiantes C. moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Del Progreso. Newly promoted Pilar keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Estudiantes C. will meet higher ranked Dep Viedma (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Pilar will have a break next round.
