Regular Season Round 23: Caxias do Sul - Minas 80-63

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Caxias do Sul (10-12) defeated at home 4th placed Minas (15-6) 80-63 on Friday. It was a great evening for Argentinian point guard Stefano Pierotti (185-1998) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 assists. Naturalized French Pedro Mendonca (196-1995) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. Wesley Ferreira (200-1995) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and guard Felipe Vezaro (192-1992, college: TAMIU) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Caxias do Sul moved-up to tenth place. Loser Minas keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Caxias do Sul will meet at home league's second-placed Flamengo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Minas will play against Brasilia and hope to secure a win.
