Regular Season Round 9: Puerto Montt - Quilicura 85-82

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Quilicura (5-4) was edged on the road by twelfth ranked Puerto Montt (3-7) 85-82 on Saturday. Puerto Montt made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200-1992) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. American Reggie Baker (193-1993, college: BCU) chipped in 23 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chris Perry (203-1994, college: LMU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds and Cuban guard Adriano Barreras (186-1989) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively. Quilicura's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Puerto Montt maintains twelfth place with 3-7 record. Loser Quilicura dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Valdivia. Puerto Montt will meet at home higher ranked Puente Alto (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quilicura will play against Puerto Varas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
