Regular Season Round 2: Running Rebels - Hurricanes 77-85

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Belize City: Hurricanes and Running Rebels. Running Rebels were defeated at home 77-85 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Hurricanes dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Running Rebels' 34. Hurricanes forced 27 Running Rebels turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Victor Evans (193, college: Vanguard) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Kris Frazier (201, college: Peru St.) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Guard Bryan Hudson (190, college: MWSU) responded with 23 points and forward James Stanback (198, college: Camden County) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
