Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Minas (17-6) outplayed 12th ranked Brasilia (6-17) in Belo Horizonte 110-79 on Friday. Minas shot 62.3 percent from the field. Minas had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 59.4 percentage. Minas looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The winners were led by Wesley Ferreira (200-1995) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Alexey Borges (185-1995) supported him with 15 points and 11 assists. Minas' coach Leonardo Costa felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by guard Gemadinha Sacco (183-1997) did not help to save the game for Brasilia. Point guard Guilherme Lessa (178-1995) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Minas and four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Minas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 17-6 record. Brasilia lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. Minas will meet league's second-placed Flamengo in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Brasilia will play against Sao Jose (#9) and hope to secure a win.
