There was a minor upset in Formosa where 11th ranked San Martin (12-10) was defeated by thirteenth ranked La Union (12-15) 97-84 on Sunday. La Union dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to San Martin's 30. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) fired 23 points and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Michael Henry (196-1995, college: Buffalo St.) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Matias Solanas (192-1998) produced 16 points and 6 assists and swingman Emiliano Basabe (195-1992) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five La Union and four San Martin players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Union maintains thirteenth place with 12-15 record. San Martin lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost.
