Regular Season Round 36: Colon SF - Dep Norte 108-88

There was an upset in Santa Fe where higher ranked Dep Norte (14-10) was rolled over by ninth ranked Colon SF (11-11) 108-88 on Friday. Colon SF looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Dep Norte's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Dwayne Russell (203, college: St.Thomas, FL) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Tomas Botta chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Colon SF's coach Juan Siemienzuck used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Franco Montemagio (185-2002) who recorded 33 points (!!!) and Lucas Nunez (200-1997) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Colon SF moved-up to seventh place. Loser Dep Norte keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Independiente. Colon SF will meet Echague (#9) in the next round. Dep Norte will play against Barrio Parque (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
