Regular Season Round 4: Defenders - Running Rebels 85-91
Date: March 3, 2023
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Belize City: Running Rebels (#6) and Defenders (#2). Defenders were defeated at home 85-91 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Brian White (196-1995, college: Wesley) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. American forward James Stanback (198, college: Camden County) contributed with 30 points for the winners. American swingman Nigel Jones (201-1990, college: Talladega) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Lorenzo Dillard (189-1995, college: Dillard) added 25 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Defenders. Four Defenders players scored in double figures. Defenders' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Running Rebels have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 3-3 record. Defending champion Defenders dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Red Taigaz and Western Ballaz.
