Very expected game in Cordoba where 20th ranked Atenas (2-26) was rolled over by fourteenth ranked Riachuelo LR (12-16) 82-60 on Thursday. Riachuelo LR dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Atenas' 32. Point guard Carlos Buendia (177-1995) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American Justin Jackson (203-1990, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. Riachuelo LR's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side naturalized Italian center Omar Canton (205-1982) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Federico Mariani (190-1992) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Riachuelo LR maintains fourteenth position with 12-16 record. Atenas lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Riachuelo LR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atenas will play against Boca (#11) in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
