Rather predictable result in San Luis where fourth ranked GEPU (20-7) beat 6th ranked Independiente (16-12) 92-74 on Thursday. Worth to mention a great performance of American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Randy Haynes (193-1995, college: ODU, agency: SLN) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Lucio Castellani (196-1994) responded with 17 points and point guard Tomas Allende (190-2002) scored 17 points. Five GEPU and four Independiente players scored in double figures. GEPU have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted GEPU maintains fourth position with 20-7 record. Loser Independiente dropped to the fifth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with H.Americano. GEPU will meet Jachal (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Independiente will have a break next round.
