Twentieth-ranked Atenas (2-26) made lots of trouble for tenth ranked Regatas (16-13) in Cordoba on Saturday. The visitors from Corrientes managed to secure only two-point victory 88-86. However their fans expected much easier game. Regatas made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Point guard Andres Jaime (184-2000) scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Facundo Pinero (202-1988) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Federico Mariani (190-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists and American guard Javion Blake (190-1997, college: Washburn, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Regatas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Independ.O. Atenas lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Regatas will meet league's leader Instituto in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Atenas will play against Boca (#11) in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
