The game between closely ranked teams ended with Teporacas' (6-0) home victory over Mieleras (4-2) 86-75 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Jacqueline Luna-Castro (188-1993, college: Charleston) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Naturalized American point guard Hazel Ramirez (165-1992, college: LMU) accounted for 14 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Guard Mayra Gil (174-2003) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and Ana Calderon added 22 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Mieleras in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Teporacas will meet Lobas (#5) in the next round. Mieleras will have a break next round.
