We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Obras (20-7) lost to fifth ranked Olimpico (17-10) in Buenos Aires 73-79 on Wednesday. It was an exceptional evening for forward Patricio Tabarez (195-1991) who led the winners and scored 24 points. American guard Elyjah Clark (190-1998, college: MSSU) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-1999, agency: Pro Sports) came up with 21 points and Uruguayan forward Emiliano Serres (205-1997, agency: Pro Sports) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Obras in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Olimpico went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with Penarol. Loser Obras dropped to the third place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
