Fifth-ranked Penarol (17-9) gave a tough game to second ranked Instituto (22-3) in Mar del Plata. The visitors from Cordoba managed to secure only one-point victory 65-64. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Penarol. It was an exceptional evening for Dominican Enmanuel Labata who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Bruno Abratte (174-2004) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Guard Facundo Tolosa (190-2002) came up with 25 points and 6 rebounds and Franco Vinciguerra (186-2002) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Penarol in the defeat. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Instituto have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place with 22-3 record having nine points less than leader Obera. Penarol at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Instituto will play against Argentino (#18) in Junin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Penarol will have a break next round.
