La Liga top team - Instituto (23-5) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat eighth ranked Penarol (17-11) in Mar del Plata 83-69. Instituto looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international power forward Tayavek Gallizzi (206-1993) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Nicolas Romano (200) who added 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Instituto players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Cristian Cardo (198-1999) with 8 points and 11 rebounds and Jose Defelippo (186-1997) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Instituto have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Despite that victory Instituto went down to second position due to points difference. Penarol at the other side keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Instituto are looking forward to face Argentino (#16) in Junin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Penarol will play on the road against the league's leader Obera (#1) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
