Rather expected game in Ciudad de Mexico where 7th ranked Mexcaltecas (1-7) were defeated by fourth ranked Quetzales (4-2) 78-63. Quetzales dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Mexcaltecas' 24. Quetzales forced 19 Mexcaltecas turnovers and outrebounded them 48-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. Mexcaltecas were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-1987) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and Melissa Gutierrez supported her with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Even 30 points by the former international point guard Paola Beltran (164-1994) did not help to save the game for Mexcaltecas. Monica Cuevas added 10 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Quetzales moved-up to third place, which they share with Mieleras. Mexcaltecas lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Lenadoras. Quetzales will play against league's leader Teporacas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mexcaltecas will play against the league's second-placed Racers (#2) to get more than just one victory in their record.
