Regular Season Round 1: Llaneros - Centauros 82-87

There was a minor upset when Llaneros lost to Centauros in Caracas 82-87 on Sunday. Centauros forced 24 Llaneros turnovers. The former international forward Elder Gimenez (186-1991) nailed 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Danny Arias (193-1997) accounted for 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Nigerian power forward Prince Orizu (208-1994, agency: Areus Sports) came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Dominican point guard Yerri Flores (188-1996, college: High School) added 13 points respectively for Llaneros in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Centauros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Llaneros will play against Trotamundos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
