Rather predictable result in Caracas where Piratas beat Diablos 89-73 on Tuesday. Piratas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Qyidar Davis (198-1993, college: Indiana St.) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Dominican guard Juan Suero (196-1993) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Dominican point guard Raimer Santana (183-1997) responded with 19 points and guard Edry Gonzalez (185-1998) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Piratas will meet at home Cangrejeros in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Diablos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Spartans.
