Regular Season Round 42: Instituto - San Martin 65-60
Date: March 21, 2023
Very predictable result in Cordoba where second ranked Instituto (24-3) defeated bottom-ranked San Martin (1-27) 65-60. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Instituto dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to San Martin's 26. Instituto forced 19 San Martin turnovers. Point guard Ignacio Beltramino (179) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Dominican Enmanuel Labata supported him with 13 points. Instituto's coach Mauro Salinas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by Augusto DAndrea (188-2002) did not help to save the game for San Martin. Gaston Lecca added 19 points. Instituto have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-3 record having nine points less than leader Obera. San Martin lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 27 lost games. Instituto will play against Ferro (#10) in Buenos Aires in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Martin will play on the road against Atenas (#13) in Cordoba to get more than just one victory in their record.
