There was no surprise when 15th ranked Ferro (14-18) lost to first ranked Instituto (25-5) in Buenos Aires 107-112 on Saturday. Instituto shot 61.7 percent from the field and made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. The former international guard Luciano Gonzalez (194-1990) notched 23 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and the former international power forward Tayavek Gallizzi (206-1993) supported him with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Even 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by swingman Valentin Bettiga (189-1999) did not help to save the game for Ferro. Swingman Lucas Gargallo (196-1995) added 19 points for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains first position with 25-5 record.
