There was no surprise in Tepic where 7th ranked Mexcaltecas (1-9) were defeated by second ranked Racers (7-1) 71-55 on Saturday. The former international point guard Daniela Pardo (165-1994) stepped up and scored 23 points and 7 assists for the winners and the former international swingman Daniela Soto (177-1995) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Racers' coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Jaqueline Castrejon responded with 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Erika Gonzalez scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Racers. They maintain second place with 7-1 record having five points less than leader Teporacas. Mexcaltecas lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Racers will meet at home league's leader Teporacas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mexcaltecas will have a break next round.
