Very predictable result in Quilpue where second ranked Los Leones (14-3) outscored 7th ranked Quilicura (9-8) 98-76 on Sunday. Los Leones made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Quilicura turnovers and outrebounded them 42-26 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Los Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American Tyrone Lee (203-1990, college: GVSU) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Markus Kennedy (206-1991, college: SMU) chipped in 14 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Four Los Leones players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Chris Perry (203-1994, college: LMU) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Daniel Arcos (190) scored 16 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Los Leones maintains second position with 14-3 record having just three points less than leader Concepcion. Loser Quilicura dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Castro. Los Leones will meet Las Animas (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Quilicura will play against Castro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
