Regular Season Round 39: Quimsa - Comunicaciones 95-89

Not a big story in a game in Santiado del Estero where 17th ranked Comunicaciones (9-23) was defeated by fourth ranked Quimsa (23-9) 95-89 on Monday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Fabian Ramirez (200-1990) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. Quimsa's coach Juan Manuel Cordoba used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Will Vorhees (203-1995, college: NDC) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Melvin Johnson (193-1993, college: VCU) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Quimsa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Loser Comunicaciones keeps the seventeenth position with 23 games lost. Quimsa will meet at home Independ.O. (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Comunicaciones will play against Olimpico (#5) in La Banda and hope to secure a win.
