Important game to mention about took place in Culiacan. Third ranked Astros (8-4) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-best Caballeros de Culiacan (8-4) 84-82 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Caballeros de Culiacan. Astros made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Astros had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) notched 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized American guard Karim Rodriguez (196-1988) supported him with 18 points and 4 assists. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds by American Barry Ogalue (196-1994, college: LBSU, agency: ROCKIN SPORTS) did not help to save the game for Caballeros de Culiacan. His fellow American import forward Johnny Hughes III (203-1997, college: UIW) added 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Astros moved-up to second place, which they share with Culiacan. Astros will play against league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caballeros de Culiacan will play against Halcones de Ciudad Obregon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
