The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis' (3-8) road loss to sixth ranked Venados (5-7) 96-100 on Wednesday. Venados shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Pioneros Los Mochis' players. The best player for the winners was American center Vincent Boumann (206-1996, college: WOU) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import power forward Alex Kaye Williams (203-1993) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Kwame Alexander (201-1990, college: CSUSB, agency: BIG) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and Swiss point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) added 29 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Venados and five Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. Venados moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tijuana. Loser Pioneros Los Mochis keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Obregon. Venados will meet Tijuana Zonkeys (#6) on the road in the next round. Pioneros Los Mochis will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas and hope to secure a win.
