Regular Season Round 40: Regatas - San Lorenzo 79-73

Very expected game in Corrientes where 19th ranked San Lorenzo (7-29) was defeated by ninth ranked Regatas (18-14) 79-73 on Thursday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Regatas made 33-of-40 free shots (82.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Charles Hinkle (198-1988, college: American) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds and guard Juan Arengo (185-1996) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) during the contest. At the losing side center Fernando Podesta (205-1992) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Lucas Perez (184-1987) scored 14 points. Four San Lorenzo players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Regatas maintains ninth position with 18-14 record. San Lorenzo lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth place with 29 games lost. Regatas will meet Penarol (#10) in the next round. San Lorenzo will play against La Union (#12) in Formosa and hope to secure a win.
