Regular Season Round 6: Taurinos - Toros 83-72

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in La Asuncion where one of their biggest challengers Toros (1-4) were defeated by fourth ranked Taurinos (2-4) 83-72 on Thursday. Taurinos dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Toros' 42. The best player for the winners was American JD Weatherspoon (198-1992, college: Toledo) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Bryant Duran (180-1999) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Taurinos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican Braynt De La Cruz (195) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Brian Guidi (200-1991) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Toros' coach David Diaz rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Taurinos moved-up to third place which they share with defeated Toros. Toros lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Taurinos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toros will play against the league's second-placed Trotamundos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
