Regular Season Round 19: Quilicura - Ancud 88-95

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Quilicura (9-9) lost at home to third ranked Ancud (14-5) 95-88 on Saturday. Ancud made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Sebastian Suarez (193-1991, college: Portland St.) who led the winners and scored 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Argentinian point guard Rodrigo Gallegos (186-1991) accounted for 12 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Ancud's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Chris Perry (203-1994, college: LMU) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international guard Pablo Coro (190-1990, college: BYU-Hawaii) added 19 points and 5 assists respectively for Quilicura in the defeat. Five Ancud and four Quilicura players scored in double figures. Ancud maintains third place with 14-5 record having five points less than leader Concepcion. Loser Quilicura dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Ancud will meet at home league's leader Concepcion in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quilicura will play against Tinguiririca (#14) in San Fernando and hope to secure a win.
