Regular Season Round 7: Centauros - Guaros 65-80

Not a big story in a game in Margarita where 4th placed Centauros (3-4) were defeated by second ranked Guaros (5-2) 80-65 on Sunday. Guaros had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Heissler Guillent (186-1986) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American-Rwandan center Prince Ibeh (208-1994, college: Texas) helped adding 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Guaros players scored in double figures. At the losing side French center Alioune Tew (204-1992, college: Niagara, agency: Helping Ballers) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Danny Arias (193-1997) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guaros keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Centauros dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Gigantes and Heroes. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
