Regular Season Round 8: Spartans - Cocodrilos 71-65

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Caracas: Spartans (#5) and Cocodrilos (#2). Spartans (1-6) won against visiting Cocodrilos (6-2) 71-65. The winners were led by American forward Will Davis II (203-1992, college: UC Irvine) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 rebounds and Nelson Palacios (192-1992) supported him with 14 points. Four Spartans players scored in double figures. Even 6 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists by Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) did not help to save the game for Cocodrilos. The former international point guard Edwin Mijares (186-1992) added 10 points and 8 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spartans left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with Cangrejeros and Llaneros. Loser Cocodrilos still keep top position with two games lost. They share it with Broncos and Brillantes. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
