Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Independ.O. (17-19) lost to eleventh ranked La Union (19-17) in Formosa 70-78. La Union dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Independ.O.'s 32. They outrebounded Independ.O. 42-30 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Ivan Basualdo (203-1990) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Marcos Saglietti (188-1986) who added 14 points during the contest. Salvador Giletto (195-1993) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Agustin Pautasso (192-1997) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Union have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain eleventh position with 19-17 record, which they share with Riachuelo LR. Newly promoted Independ.O. keeps the thirteenth place with 19 games lost.
