No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Quimsa (19-18) beat 17th ranked Argentino (10-26) in Santiago del Estero 65-57 on Monday. Quimsa outrebounded Argentino 36-19 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Ecuadorian forward Joseph Caicedo (196-2004) notched 8 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Romeo Amprimo supported him with 9 points and 4 assists. Quimsa's coach Marcelo Zanni used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by Luis Colon did not help to save the game for Argentino. Point guard Santiago Capelli (180-2005) added 11 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the guests. Quimsa moved-up to tenth place. Loser Argentino keeps the seventeenth position with 26 games lost. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Argentino will play against Riachuelo LR (#6) in La Rioja and hope to secure a win.
