Regular Season Round 9: Tijuana - Astros 77-85

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (7-11) were defeated at home by second ranked Astros (12-6) 85-77 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was American Lagerald Vick (196-1997, college: Kansas) who scored 23 points. His fellow American import forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Joshua Webster (190-1997, college: Missouri St.) who recorded 21 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international forward Edgar Garibay (208-1990, college: LBSU) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Four Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Astros have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Astros maintains second place with 12-6 record having just two points less than leader Hermosillo. Tijuana Zonkeys lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Los Mochis. Astros will meet at home Venados (#5) in the next round. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Halcones de Ciudad Obregon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
