Regular Season Round 17: Trotamundos - Toros 68-57

There was no surprise in La Asuncion where 10th ranked Toros (2-13) were defeated by third ranked Trotamundos (10-4) 68-57 on Monday. Trotamundos had a 46-35 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international center Nestor Colmenares (200-1987, college: Campbellsville, agency: Pro Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and international Edgar Martinez (199-1997) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Beiker Barrios (193-2002) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and forward Ludwing Irazabal Jr (198-1998) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trotamundos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Broncos. Toros lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Trotamundos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toros will play against Broncos (#3) in Caracas and hope to secure a win.
