Regular Season Round 20: Heroes - Guaros 77-86

Rather predictable result in Caracas where third ranked Guaros (11-5) defeated 6th ranked Heroes (8-8) 86-77 on Saturday. Guaros made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Orlando Coleman (196-1992, college: Texas Southern) who scored 28 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). The former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-1982, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 5 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Guaros players scored in double figures. British center Kavell Bigby-Williams (211-1995, college: LSU) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks and Dominican point guard Richard Bautista (185-1997) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Heroes' coach Ricardo Gonzalez rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Guaros moved-up to second place, which they share with Trotamundos and Brillantes. Loser Heroes keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Guaros will meet at home league's leader Broncos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Heroes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Llaneros.
