Regular Season Round 21: Toros - Brillantes 85-76

There was a surprise result in Maracay where tenth ranked Toros (2-15) beat 3rd placed Brillantes (11-6) 85-76 on Tuesday. Toros had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Toros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Uruguayan Gaston Semiglia (186-1991) stepped up and scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and swingman Beiker Barrios (193-2002) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Toros' coach Rafael Infante used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard James Reese V (193-1998, college: S.Carolina) with 18 points and the former international swingman Cesar Silva (190-1981) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toros maintains tenth place with 2-15 record. Loser Brillantes dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Toros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brillantes will play against Taurinos (#9) in La Asuncion and hope to secure a win.
