Regular Season Round 22: Llaneros - Broncos 78-82

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Caracas: Broncos (#1) and Llaneros (#8). Despite it looked like an easy game for Broncos, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Host Llaneros challenged much higher ranked Broncos giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by four points 82-78. American Erik McCree (202-1993, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import swingman Jordan Williams (198-1992, college: N.Texas) supported him with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Even 31 points and 4 assists by Dominican point guard Yerri Flores (188-1996, college: High School) did not help to save the game for Llaneros. American forward Lance Thomas (206-1999, college: USA, agency: Haylett Sports) added 23 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Broncos maintains first position with 13-5 record, which they share with Guaros. Loser Llaneros keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. Broncos will meet Trotamundos (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Llaneros will have a break next round.
