Very significant was Teporacas' (#1, 4-0) victory against 3rd ranked Quetzales (0-4) 100-67. Teporacas forced 21 Quetzales turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Quetzales' players. Naturalized American point guard Hazel Ramirez (165-1992, college: LMU) scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Sandra Vargas (174-1997) chipped in 17 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Teporacas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-1987) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Aniese Palmore (165-1994, college: UMW) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Teporacas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Mieleras. Quetzales at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Mexcaltecas. Teporacas is looking forward to face league's second-placed Lobas in Ciudad de Mexico in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quetzales will have a break next round.
